The AFMS Winter meeting is held annually in Chamonix, Haute Savoie, France at the Hotel de l’Aiguille du Midi (Les Bossons).
The family run hotel is recommended for value and comfort and is 3km from the centre of Chamonix. It has 40 comfortable rooms and a restaurant, offering a traditional quality cuisine, a wide variety of dishes and Savoy specialities.
Travelling to Chamonix is very easy. Geneva is the closest airport and various companies offer transfers with a drop off and collection to and from the hotel.
This hotel is a Michelin recommended hotel for value and comfort.
The 2026 Chamonix Winter Conference was a great success. A full review will appear in our next newsletter, but in the meantime we can report that it was a thoroughly enjoyable meeting. There was an excellent range of talks from our members, alongside plenty of time in the mountains. Skiing ranged from some very impressive off-piste adventures to a few enthusiastic beginners finding their way on the nursery slopes — and everything in between. As always, we were extremely well looked after by our hosts at the hotel, whose hospitality helped make the meeting both relaxed and memorable.
Interest is already building for next year’s gathering. Prices and booking details will be available after our Summer conferences, but we have already received several early expressions of interest and will be delighted to organise another Alpine meeting.
The dates for next year are 28–31 January 2027, so do make a note in your diaries.
