We hope that you have been keeping well and safe. We apologise for being radio silent this last year – most of us at AFMS are Junior Doctors/Consultants, and so we are sure you understand why our priorities have been elsewhere during the Pandemic.
However, we are back to let you know that we have been very busy behind the scenes, and have some exciting plans to share with you.
1. Language Exchange 🇫🇷 🇬🇧
We are currently organising a Language Exchange Session, where you will have the opportunity to refresh your French with a Colleague from across the Channel! The session will take place online and remain informal, so that you can practice your French in a relaxed manner. We hope to be able to turn this event into a regular occurrence!

2. French Medical Course 🇫🇷🩺
Pre-COVID, AFMS would run the annual French Medical Weekend Course, which was an intensive introduction to speaking French in a Medical setting. This was a great opportunity for students and Junior Doctors to pick up a whole new language skill set to prepare for Electives or Placements in a French-speaking country.
We were sad to have to cancel our French Medical Weekend for the second year in a row, but have been working very hard on converting it to an online format. Bringing it online will mean that the course will be more accessible than ever, and so we hope to see as many of you there as possible.

3. AFMS Student Network 🔀
We have been supporting Student groups within different Medical Schools during the pandemic, and are delighted to see a few of the groups continue with online sessions.
