The Anglo-French Network

Welcome to the AFMS Network!

This Network aims to create and foster links between students and teachers, seniors and juniors, French and British. Whether that be through improving French abilities, enabling connections, or encouraging networking, there is something for everybody within the AFMS Network.

Designed for students and doctors alike, the Méd-Franç Essentials course aims to improve your French abilities through regular and consistent sessions by offering monthly French discussions. Designed as a OSCE style, discussion type course, the sessions allow you to immerse yourself in the French language for an hour, conversing with colleagues and other medical professionals about medical and clinical topics.

This course can be accessed through our Medical French Courses banner.

Electives and Exchanges

Interested in undertaking an elective or exchange in a French speaking country? We might be able to help put you in touch with a member from our sister committee in France, or find contact information for a hospital or consultant. Don’t hesitate to get in touch using one of the options below and we will get right back to you.

We also provide elective reports from various students throughout the years for a variety of countries. Why not check them out here!

Thinking of undertaking an elective in a French speaking country? We’d love to hear from you. Thanks to the generous donation from the Miss Ford charity, we are able to offer the Miss Ford Bursary to help aid medical students from Britain and France to spend elective attachments in establishments speaking each other’s languages.
